01. Application & Eligibility

Applying for the KITR six-month internship programme

Q01. Who can apply for the internship?

The programme is intended for applicants interested in developing a professional career in shipbuilding insulation technology and technical or quality management.

KITR reviews each applicant's education, experience, interests and suitability for the programme individually.

Q02. Do I need previous insulation or shipbuilding experience?

Relevant technical or industry experience may be helpful during selection. Applicants should describe their previous education, qualifications and practical experience accurately.

KITR reviews each application against the requirements of the relevant cohort rather than relying on experience alone.

Q03. Do I need to speak Korean?

Communication ability is reviewed during selection. Trainees must be able to understand workplace instructions, particularly those relating to shipyard safety.

KITR will review individual language proficiency and the communication requirements of the participating company during the admission process.

Q04. How long is the programme, and how many trainees are accepted?

The internship lasts 26 weeks (approximately six months). Each cohort is planned for 10 trainees.

It combines weekday company-based OJT with scheduled KITR technical education, practical learning and VR training.

Q05. How do I apply for the programme?

Download the official Korean/English KITR Internship Application Form, complete the required information and email the completed form to jh.park@kitr.co.kr.

KITR may request supporting documents during the review process.

The initial submission requires the completed KITR Internship Application Form. Further documents relating to education, work experience, qualifications or residence status may be requested after preliminary review.

Please follow KITR's instructions before emailing sensitive identification documents.

Q07. What happens after I submit my application?

KITR reviews the submitted information and may contact shortlisted applicants for clarification or an interview.
